Georgetown Cupcakes

My husband and I went to Georgetown this past weekend for work. Georgetown is a cute place to visit, but boy was it crowded! The warm weather brought out a bunch of crazy people but I also got to see Nick Jonas (!!) walking down the street, so I really can't complain too much. Before we left for the day, I made sure to stop by Georgetown Cupcake to taste some of their cupcakes. I waited in line for a good 45 minutes before I finally got my cupcakes! All of the flavors sounded SO good but I finally settled on a few to try: key lime, mint oreo, peanut butter fudge, and salted caramel.

Earlier this year, while in NYC, I got a cupcake from Magnolia Bakery and was actually disappointed with the taste. I was hoping it wouldn't be the same case for the Georgetown Cupcakes. It wasn't. These cupcakes were amazing! The cupcakes were moist and the unique frostings were fabulous! The key lime tasted light and fresh while the peanut butter fudge was so dense and moist I could only eat a few bites. My husband's favorites were the mint oreo and peanut butter fudge while mine were the salted caramel with the key lime in a close second. If you are ever in the Georgetown area, I encourage you to stop by and pick up a few cupcakes; you won't be disappointed!
