Guest Post: Cookie Dough Truffles

Allow me to introduce one of my absolute favorite bloggers: Jessica of How Sweet It Is. I love her recipes and her posts never fail to make me laugh. I am so excited that she has graciously accepted to do a guest post about one of her favorite recipes! Enjoy the post and be sure to stop by her blog!

Hi Caramel Cookie readers! My name is Jessica and I blog at How Sweet It Is. I have some incredibly sweet teeth and wanted to share one of my most favorite treats with you: cookie dough truffles.

No fear - this is not raw cookie dough. However, it tastes exactly like it!

This is always a party pleaser and guests go wild for it. It is hard to resist temptation when preparing them - you will probably want to eat the entire batch yourself.

These make a fabulous Summer dessert because they are served cold. They do need to be refrigerated or frozen until they are served, but they are very refreshing on those hot days or nights.

I hope you love them as much as I do!

Cookie Dough Truffles

1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
14 oz can sweetened, condensed milk
3/4 cup milk chocolate chips
To coat: 1 1/2 lbs chocolate disks or chocolate chips

In a large bowl, cream butter and brown sugar with an electric mixer at medium speed until creamy. Add vanilla. Gradually beat in flour and add milk. Add chocolate morsels, mixing well. Shape into 1-inch balls. Place on waxed paper; chill 2 hours.

Since the dough is sticky, roll your fingers into flour. This will make it easier to roll.

Melt chocolate chips or disks in a double boiler. Using 2 forks, dip cookie balls into candy coating to cover. Place on waxed paper and chill to set. Store in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.

If you are looking for some other fabulous treats to serve, I think Mackenzie's cake batter ice cream and peanut butter marshmallow crunch brownies look exceptionally scrumptious.

  1. These look really good, and easy to make! I have a bbq/potluck to attend next week and I think this will be one of the things I bring (along with some veggies to grill! gotta have balance!)

  4. This is nothing short of inspirational! It's cold and rainy here so making homing chocolate chip cookies is definitely warranted, but somehow I'm drawn to these truffles instead. Could it be the pics? Or happy I know my family will be when they bite into them? (I love making my family happy)
