A Cookie Failure....

This past weekend I decided to make some chocolate mint cookies for my husband. My husband isn't the biggest fan of sweets (yes....I married a weirdo) but he does like chocolate mint sweets. I crushed up some peppermint soft stick candy and mixed them into a chocolate sugar cookie dough. I was SO excited to bake these and really wanted them to turn out well. They didn't.

First off, the cookies were just plain ugly. When my husband saw them the first thing he said was "wow, never kick a fresh turd on a hot day." Gee, thanks.....I made these for you honey! Even more disappointing the flattened turd shape was the flavor. Yes there was chocolate. And peppermint. However, the taste was just.....off. I couldn't quite put my finger on what it was but I think the cookie may have just been too sweet with the peppermint candy. I brought these cookies to a friends' house later that evening and they thought the cookies were "okay." I won't be posting the recipe for this since I won't be making these again and I wouldn't want anyone else to make these disappointing cookies either. I will, however, attempt to make chocolate mint cookies again for the hubbs soon, hopefully with better results.
